FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RATING COURSE
Traditional training for the award of this specialist rating has
recently been closely scrutinised by CASA in an effort to raise the
standard ,quality and safety of Flight Instructors and therefore
Commercial Pilots in Australia. 'Raising the Standard' is a
fundamental philosophy of ACFT and the Flight Instructor Rating
Course (FIRC) being offered has been developed in accordance
with the strong company commitment to the delivery of quality
aviation training.
The course has been developed fundamentally from the
requirements specified in the Civil Aviation Orders (CAO 40.1.7)
and enhanced with input from a range of aviation training
specialists with experience in both industry and military 'Train the
Trainer' systems. This course has been designed for those with a
passion to be a professional flight instructor of the highest
standard and who possess a strong commitment to developing
aviation.
The Flight Instructor Rating Course (FIRC) is 12 weeks in duration
and is divided into 3 modules of training.
The Principles and Methods of Instruction module covers all the
requirements of the CAO's as well as providing the skills necessary
to develop and deliver flight instruction.
The Airborne Instructional Technique module of training is under-
taken in the traditional Cessna 172 and prepares the instructor
candidate for the challenges of teaching in the dynamic flight
environment.
The Professional Instructor Development module differentiates
the ACFT FIRC graduate from their contemporaries. The module
enhances the candidates understanding and perspective of
instructing in the aviation industry and prepares them for
employment as a professional flight instructor.
Total course cost is $16,500 and includes instructor reference
material, training resources and all aircraft, instructional,
aerodrome and aeronautical charges. It also includes a CASA
flight test at the completion of the training course. Payment plans
